At the Patterdale we pride ourselves on the quality of our food and we know that your evening meal will be a memorable experience. When we purchased the hotel in 2001, Kenny McDonald moved from the Viking to take up the position of Head Chef and he has over 18 years’ service with the company. He puts his talents to good use in preparing a daily table d’hôte menu using, wherever possible, seasonal Cumbrian produce and the emphasis is on simple yet flavoursome home produced dishes.
Our hotel manager Jonathan Hurst and his restaurant team will greet you as you arrive for your evening meal and we recommend that you book a convenient time to dine upon checking into the hotel. The Cumbrian fells produce a stunning view from the restaurant and what better way to spend your evening than to admire them whilst enjoying a bottle of wine from the hotels’ cellars.
Breakfast is equally as good at the Patterdale where we offer a self service style buffet table including cereals, juices, fresh fruits and pastries. For those of you who may be heading to the fells then we also offer a hot selection of traditional English breakfast items.
